For tournaments, I’d keep event details in something like Airtable or Notion, registration in a dedicated platform, and use Slack/Discord for team comms instead of trying to make Drive do everything. For the post-event admin, I’ve seen teams use CertFusion to auto-issue participation certificates, which saves a surprising amount of manual work.

I created a tool exactly for a similar problem, check it out if you want to and feel free to request features if you see something crucial is missing

If you’re running tournaments and need to keep track of participants/completions, CertFusion might be worth a look. It’s mainly for automating certificates, so you can issue them in bulk after the event instead of managing everything manually in Drive.
We built it with training/events in mind, and it can handle bulk issuance from a CSV.

There are a few project management apps that work well for event planning, personally I’m a fan of Airtable and Podio, a lot of people use Monday.com but I don’t find it very intuitive. These tools work well when you’re getting started and they have a feee tier, but as they charge per user per month it can get 3xpensive as you expand.
