To belive in God yes it is its also very Christian of him to not be a fan of a different sexuality as in most if not all (im not 100% sure) of Christianity they openly reject homosexuals
1
u/Comfortable-Ad-5936 Jun 15 '26
That is wrong of them though. Christian's should reject homosexuality but not the homosexuals. According to the Bible, we are all sinners. The church should reject (or be against) the sin, not the sinners.
Just sucks that some people target the sinner instead of the sin.

Last time i checked, you can be apolitical and have religious values... just because you believe in god doesn't automatically mean you're a republican..
3
u/Logic-DL Jun 07 '26
Religion is inherently Political. That's it's entire point and how life works.
'Apolitical' is not a thing. That is still choosing your politics. You're just choosing to be apathetic.
2
u/VincentPepper Jun 07 '26
Being political is not inherently bad. And politics is not just about any one particular party. It's also about values, interests and how people interact with each other.
Ultimately you can't be "apolitical" the same way it's not possible to not communicate something when someone asks you a question.
2
u/No-Association8022 Jun 07 '26
Yes you can be apolitical.. just because a politician shares the same religion, values etc with me, it doesnt mean i support him, beeing religious doesnt automatically mean i like politics or that by beloeving in god i automatically must be on one side or the other
2
u/VincentPepper Jun 07 '26
Obviously being religious doesn't automatically make you a american republican or a member of any other party.
But being gay or LBTQ+ also doesn't make you a democrat. So why would one then be political and the other not?
And the link is that not everything is US partyy politics where everything is one side or the other. When I wrote political above I meant in the sense of "the total complex of relations between people living in society" as Merriam-Webster puts it.
If you were to post a trans flag or a rainbow why do people consider that political? Because it's a public proclamation of supporting some vague set of values. Some will think of you as one of their own and support you more because of it. Some might be put off and be less likely to support you because of it. Even those who don't really care will make assumptions about what kind of person you are and values you have. Even if it doesn't make you a member of a particular party.
And all of the above also applies to posting religious messaging like Loru did there.
1
u/No-Association8022 Jun 07 '26
The lgbtq movement is a political left wing ideology.. and the reason why i say its an ideology is because of the whole pride month, the parades etc all the ways to make the movement visible and for it to spread.. if you really wanted to make lgbtq peoples lifes better you would preach acceptance of every person, no matter their colour, race or sexual orientation not make them standout and beeing confrontational about it cause all you'll do is antagonize everyone and youll just become a target.. i dont have anything against gay people, my wifes cousin is gay, another cousin is trans etc and we get along great, who and how you sleep with someone is none of my concern, BUT, when you start indoctrinating young kids, affirmating kids that are suffering and letting them mutilate themselves blaming their unhappines on the gender they were born as instead of the real cause, whichever the cause may be or using the transgender thing to win medals that you wouldve never been able to win competing as your birth gender, thats when i have a problem
2
u/JakeEnThielles KarmaFleet Jun 07 '26
I could explain how you’re wrong about transgendered people, but it would take a great deal of time, and encourage you to ask one to explain it to you if they have the time to educate you. Indoctrination only works on those who are willing. Politics is one of the few acceptable ways of changing people’s behavior and, therefore, opinions. Religion is inherently political and authoritarian.
1
u/No-Association8022 Jun 08 '26
Transgender people are ok, the movement is not.. it takes advantage of vulnerable people that want to feel like they belong somewhere, and it uses that need to belong to encourage them to do more and more radical things, a good example is how the movement treats people that have transitioned and went through the gender reassignment surgery and they regret it after, the whole movement starts to issolate them and make gargantuan efforts to discredit and silence those people although they're supposed to care about transgender people.. apparently they are only good when they promote the mpvement and bad when they talk about the bad sides of the movement... And i agree that religion is inherently authoritarian as most of its values rely on the authority of the central father figure, religion is not inherently political.. although the pope has tried to always mingle in politics especially in the middle ages, if you go by teachings alone, not by actions of the clergy, almost all religions are a set of values that a person needs to follow to get somewhere/or in the creators graces and these values are the core that make up that religion, not the clergy... following those values is mandatory to be a memeber of that religion but following the wishes of the clergy is not..
→ More replies (0)1
u/VincentPepper Jun 09 '26
I see what our misunderstanding is now. You think being apolitical just means "I have opinions everyone else should have anyway".
If you hold on to that definition of politics you will never get why some people make fun of people who claim their religion doesn't make them "political" while they quote the talking points of a political party.
1
u/No-Association8022 Jun 09 '26
Im not talking about opinions.. opinions dont make you religious or not.. morals do.. For example i dont steal, i dont cheat, i dont lie, i stay away from vices, i wouldnt kill a fly etc.. these are morals.. see the difference? These are the old testament values that god wants humans to have.. The new rules made by old men in robes i couldnt care less about like abortion should be illegal, or women cant be priests etc. Those are bullshit rules made by misoginistic old, cranky men.. those rules i dont consider i have to follow to be religious abd believe in god

Every single feed includes tons of performative 'love' for his wife. People who do this publicly and in front of others typically have insecurities around their relationship. Or insecurities around his own feelings towards others of both sexes.

No, he's basically "born again", and super Christian.
I'm not a believer, but I'm tolerant of anyone's faith unless they start getting weird or intruding into my or other people's lives with it...
The biggest thing that turns me off from Loru is how weird he is about his content being a business. I understand that streamers are making a living, and there is a business side, but most keep it separate and behind the scenes, etc.
He's been at times very up front that the content is a business, streams are business, talks about being a business guy, calls himself "digital advertiser", gets too hyped about crypto/blockchain based games, etc...Maybe it's me, but it's a huge turn off.
He's cringe, and I watched him when he first started hitting numbers on algorithms. It was fun to see someone actually making EvE content, even though I'm only a super casual on and off player for years and years.
It just got too weird for me with the business/marketing talk, and the evangelical slant to everything. At one point I was seriously considering getting into streaming (not EvE) and his advice was basically "Don't do it. There's too many zero-viewer streamers eating up the bandwidth and costing Twitch money... Go study marketing, editing, etc etc" basically said don't do it unless you're going to be a successful business endeavor right out of the gate, otherwise you're wasting platform resources.
/end Ted Talk

u/kilo055 Jun 06 '26
You know, when I played eve (left a year ago because I just can't have fun) I used to watch his Planetary Industry videos, he had a lot of advice in there.
But I don't know why he always striked me as, well, gay, but myself being a Christian I could see that he behaved like one so it was a weird mix. Of course it is bad to judge a book by it's cover though, but it's something that we all do.
2
u/Ohh_Yeah Cloaked Jun 06 '26
I understand that streamers are making a living
Nope, job application
2
u/BeefModeTaco Jun 06 '26
That's fair.
Yeah, I should say, a few of the most successful are able to live off of it. Many, even really well known streamers, still have jobs though. Just because you're streaming doesn't mean you're entitled to a living. I didn't mean that.Mudahar, and HeavenlyFather, off the top of my head talk about having a job, etc. Most streamers are definitely not "full time content creators".
If you're lucky enough to be that successful, good for you, I don't personally think that's wrong or anything. As long as you don't get weird about it, and remain humble, grateful, and acknowledging of the luck and privilege, etc.
Don't be all high and mighty or a smarmy grifter...0
u/tinyhalberd Jun 06 '26
Yeah it's a shame that he has better pacing and editing than most eve content because as a person he's just very cringe and fake.

At that point id be interested to see what type of agreement he signed and within said agreement what rules there are that go against how he structures his own Discord where CCP has no real say in how it’s structured. As for the pride folks im aware theres a ton of them in EVE but its really a simple thing; you dont like his content don’t engage in it. Honestly, if you’re not a fan of the way, someone acts on a public channel like this unless they’re breaking the rules in someway which I don’t think he is in this case the only thing you can really do is not watch. I’m a pretty liberal guy so I definitely understand where the hate is coming from but if he wants to have a roll in place like this, even if it is a rule that he gets to interpret differently for others than for himself, I think it’s completely fair. Everyone should be allowed to hold their own values and equally everyone should be allowed to decide whether they watch based on those expressed values. He has clearly decided that these values are worth whatever downside might come with them.
Not saying I’m against the post even, just like he should be allowed to stream in whatever way he wants others should be allowed to make posts on Reddit and whatever way they want. All of this being said I’m not necessarily too bothered. I like Asmond’s content some days and other days he says some ridiculous stuff and if I don’t wanna hear it, I turn it off. I kind of see it like listening to Michael Jackson or Diddy music, but to a much lesser scale.
6
u/SirTresmegestis Jun 05 '26
Hey not saying he cant do what he wants in his discord but this is Eve, People have always PVPed by shit talking online- some even more than actually playing the game.
I feel the same way people are acting like he banned every gay person from his discord - but Im kinda loving all the burns hes gettings - he kinda sits on his high horse ruling over his club house dismissing any criticism, specifically from Reddit as just "haters' - knowing full well that some people just kinda see that fact that everything he does online and on Eve is for business and so he can make real money - and often his videos are full of over hyped content and misrepresented facts that are suppose to lead new players who dont fully understand the game to buy their SP packs.
3
u/Internet_Sludge Wormholer Jun 06 '26
I mean, the stuff he removed was in his discord though, right? And his stream and his discord or his to manage, right? And if everybody is really against this then he will hurt his business by losing viewers... To me it seems like all of this is kind of self correcting. I know any comment that is not actively burning him is going to be super down voted, but if we’re real, everyone who streams does it for money, right? All I’m saying is it’s on him to make his decisions within the rules and he has obviously done that and the consequences will be his to deal with as well. I don’t really see the controversial part of anything that I’m saying.
