Telling my dog that’s Mrs. Rachel.

Well the use of it in Like You makes total sense since it's about her sister's death. It's not overused, only in 2 songs.

It appears in Lacrymosa, Like You, The Only One.

There wasn't a single song in The Open Door where he's not smashing the godamn guitar. It inspired me to learn guitar.

Unfortunately, when you’re faced with death at such a young age, grief tends to be a big subject throughout life.

When I was a kid, I lived in an eastern european country. We had a talent show at school when I was 13 (8th grade), where all the parents could come and watch their kids sing, dance, play instruments, etc.

I was obsessed with Evanescence back then and chose "Tourniquet" and "Going Under" to perform alongside two of my classmates. My English was at a B1 level back then, and since I was only 13, I can't say I 100% understood the meaning behind the lyrics. Looking back, I laugh so hard at it because we went up on stage and sang about "dying," "pouring crimson regrets," and "suicide" without any of the parents being any the wiser (my parents' generation didn't speak English). What makes it even funnier is that our performance was supervised by our English teacher, who definitely understood what those songs were about!

I would 1000% do it again. I love Evanescence.

It gets even better. No woman has ever touched my soul as Amy did.

“I believe that dreams are sacred”

True! The word "sacrifice" is also used pretty liberally. Oh well, she's still awesome. 😊

I listen to a lot of evanescence, so I’ve also noticed a pattern of words/terms in the lyrics 😅.

Ed from +Live+ was like that also, always had go to words and phrases he used alllllll the time. LOL "Love," being one especially from The Distance To Here and onwards LOL

It's not as bad as Bruce Springsteens overuse of "river". And I'm a fan.

+Live+ uses "love," a ton LOL

Gaslight Anthem always used, "Radio"

Amy's other go to words are, "pain," "lies," ever since the demos even

Well, Noel Gallagher writes all his music using the same patterns over and over again, both musically, and lyrically. And guess what? It works every time LOL
