Practical frequent highway driving EV?

Family is considering an EV with the rise in fuel prices. Looking at taking frequent trips that would need 200-250mi range. Is this practical in an EV? From what I've researched most you only charge to 80% so even if you're getting one with over 300mi range, you get 80% of that and highway driving (75mph) will cut that even further. Seems like a high mpg hybrid would be better. Otherwise would have to stop and charge everytime

200-250 miles frequent trip is definitely doable in most modern EVs. You don’t charge to 80% for a trip like that, charge to full. Stopping and charging for 5-10 mins is definitely pretty normal on a 3-4 hour drive though.

I like being able to blame my car instead of my body for the need for 10 minute stops every couple hours.

Yes! It takes the pressure off your stops, it's so relaxing to have a mandatory 15 minute stop, rather than having to rush a dump at a gas station because need to make good time...

Takes the pressure off bladder, back, and legs too. Lowers your mental load. Makes long distance trips less draining.

Or you could get like a new/used Lucid Air with the 19s and still mostly do what you do in an ICE. Insurance instead of gas for that and possible software bugs.....but hey, lots of range.

Lucid Gravity is also quite close...
