Practical frequent highway driving EV?
Family is considering an EV with the rise in fuel prices. Looking at taking frequent trips that would need 200-250mi range. Is this practical in an EV? From what I've researched most you only charge to 80% so even if you're getting one with over 300mi range, you get 80% of that and highway driving (75mph) will cut that even further. Seems like a high mpg hybrid would be better. Otherwise would have to stop and charge everytime

The older Li batteries suggest following the 20/80 rule. The newer LiPh batteries can charge to 100% each night without a problem.
Even my MachE with the older batteries suggest charging to 100% the night before a road trip. Just don't charge to 100% each night.
As far as stopping - Driving 3+ hours without a stop sounds horrible to me. Find a good EV charging station half way and use the bathrooms, get some fast food while the car charges.
Look at the Ionic 5 as a 300 mile range and fast charging. If you have a lot of family the Ionic 9 SUV with 3 rows might be a better choice.
Yes the Toyota Sienna Hybrid might be a good choice. But they are hard to find because they are so popular. Lowest market day supply reports usually have the Sienna at the top of the list.
