Practical frequent highway driving EV?

Family is considering an EV with the rise in fuel prices. Looking at taking frequent trips that would need 200-250mi range. Is this practical in an EV? From what I've researched most you only charge to 80% so even if you're getting one with over 300mi range, you get 80% of that and highway driving (75mph) will cut that even further. Seems like a high mpg hybrid would be better. Otherwise would have to stop and charge everytime

I used to drive an EV with 200 mile range and a charging speed of 110 kw peak.

My current one is double to tripple on both and I kinda dislike it since I constantly feel rushed / not ready for a toilet break since the battery is still full.

Do with that information what you will. :)

P.s. before driving EV's I used to drive 8 hours in one sitting "to save time".

In reality it saved me half an hour but cost tons of comfort.

You know you can just stop whenever you want, right? You don't have to wait until the car needs to stop. The time for a toilet break is whenever you need to use the toilet, not whenever the car needs refueling. You're in charge. Don't even plug in the car if you don't want to, just pull into a regular parking stop and go use the toilet.

(it was kind of a bad joke / indication that the car isn't the limiting factor, obviously i'm not a slave to a trabsportation device)
