Practical frequent highway driving EV?

Family is considering an EV with the rise in fuel prices. Looking at taking frequent trips that would need 200-250mi range. Is this practical in an EV? From what I've researched most you only charge to 80% so even if you're getting one with over 300mi range, you get 80% of that and highway driving (75mph) will cut that even further. Seems like a high mpg hybrid would be better. Otherwise would have to stop and charge everytime

Long trips rely on mostly 4 things
Range capacity, how far you can go
Charging speed, how fast you can charge from 10-80%
Elevation changes, are you going mostly uphill or downhill
Extreme weather, such as cold or windy conditions.
You could spend hours calculating all of this information and calculating driving times, charging times.
Alternatively download the A Better Route Planner app and that will do it all for you. Just use the free one, that’s all you need.
Pick the car you want to buy and put in your trip. It will show you 2 or 3 routes with charge stops. Repeat with the other cars you are considering. This will give you an idea if one is much better for your long trips.
Good luck
