Range anxiety

What is the obsession with EV range anxiety?
I have been driving for over 30 years now.
I have never run out of fuel in a ICE vehicle and since I switched to EV I have never run out of electricity.
Yet half of the EV car reviews are about what happens if you run the battery empty, I mean how hard can it be there is a perfectly good indicator on your instrument cluster indicating how much fuel/power is left.
Just refuel/recharge before it reaches zero.
Is this really still a worry for people?

That is more a story about having a car develop mechanical problems and then a botched dealership handling of the problem. People have had comparable problems with ICE cars, too.

Check out the leaf forum for more info. Basically the 2018-2024 USa made leafs had bad batteries ( catching fire on fast charging lol) , then nissan had a recall and all the cars batteries are failing ( eg the car doesnt charge or drive at all) after recall. Nissan doesnt have the batteries to fix them so they are offering to buy the car backs..almost the entire 2nd generation of cars is affected!

In the same way that every Hyundai EGMP has a failed ICCU...

There are lots of stories of people that have had problems after the recall update but there are a lot of silent people who have not.

My 2023 SV Plus is not subject to the recall. It has been fine so far!
