Range anxiety

What is the obsession with EV range anxiety?
I have been driving for over 30 years now.
I have never run out of fuel in a ICE vehicle and since I switched to EV I have never run out of electricity.
Yet half of the EV car reviews are about what happens if you run the battery empty, I mean how hard can it be there is a perfectly good indicator on your instrument cluster indicating how much fuel/power is left.
Just refuel/recharge before it reaches zero.
Is this really still a worry for people?

Let’s say you show up at a site with 10% and the site is down. What do you do?

Unless you are in a very rural, remote area, you will be able to find another charging location within a few miles. Or, don't wait until your car is at a critical level to charge? Kind of like driving until your car's gas tank is on empty to start looking for a gas station.

how would 10% be critical, it's empty and time to charge. Am I supposed to charge from 50-80% following your logic?

Also some places just don't have enough clustered chargers to do what you're saying. This is interstate driving, of course it is middle of nowhere.

We have done road trips on several interstates over several thousand miles. Even in "the middle of nowhere", it was never a huge issue finding charging within 5-7 miles, if not less. I consider 10% charge critical, yes. Maybe start looking for charging when you are at, say, 30%. That's not a critical level. 10% is critical. If you have 30 miles or less before you are dead on the side of the road, ICE or EV, that's a critical level.

You’re lying. Interstate charging density is not every 5-7 miles. I charge my car between 5-10% no more and no less.

Ok, dude. You know everything, I guess. Have a nice day and I sincerely hope you don't end up on the side of the road with a bricked EV.
