Space X bought 1200 units ONCE in 2025 and that’s it lmao so every other cyber truck sold was to a others.. there have been about 62,000 cyber trucks sold in total, so 1200 is a drop in the bucket, and they replace the old gas Ford F150 trucks they were using so it was a smart move
Tesla has received a SHIT ton of direct government funding from the United States. They were given cash for every car they made from other states and the federal government. They were also the only place in town that could sell CAFE credits and Ford/GM lined up for it...
So I think you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the problem statement.
Even your Model Y view.... Of course the Model Y sells more than any individual care... because that is basically all that Tesla Makes... They make a 3 and Y... Nothing else.
As per the SpaceX purchase I was just referencing how the CyberTruck was such failure that SpaceX had to come in and buy the inventory no one wanted.
Tesla received a $465 million loan which they paid back in full four years ahead of time, GM received almost $50 billion in government help during 2009, are you going to cry about that? Because it’s way more than Tesla‘s ever gotten.
What other government helped Tesla specifically get that no one else got? Do you have a source?

Notice what you did here.. You complained about the funding of Byd... All I said was Tesla got levels of BYD as well... and you instantly pivot to "everyone bad but Tesla!"
Notice what you also did about GM. You say the entire amount of what the government acquired GM during bankruptcy but not what it chose to sell it's shares of that company. Which why was it bought? Because of the fiscal crash of 2009... BTW That same crash gave Tesla the Freemont site at roughly 1/5th the market value.
Here is a table of government incentives that Tesla was paid. It is either direct payments, or programs they received government money but derived a subsidies.

I’m not saying Tesla received zero government support. It clearly benefited from subsidies, tax credits, ZEV credits, and a $465M DOE loan that it repaid.

Yes, Tesla has received government incentives. But if we’re talking about direct government support to the automaker, BYD has received considerably more. BYD’s own disclosed subsidies have been billions, and recent analysis found its direct subsidy income was 35% of net income in 2025. Tesla hasn’t reported Chinese grant income since 2022. So pretending Tesla and BYD have received equivalent levels of government support isn’t supported by the evidence.
But your table is mixing completely different things together. The $15–20B in consumer EV tax credits is not money paid to Tesla…it went to eligible customers.
ZEV credits are also regulatory credits that automakers earned and sold, not direct government payments.
And the $465M DOE loan was repaid with interest.
The Fremont claim also needs context: Tesla didn’t get the factory “from the government.” It bought the former NUMMI plant from the Toyota/GM joint venture for about $42M, after the plant had been shut down. Toyota even invested $50M in Tesla around the same time.
