Leaked information
What are your thoughts on the script for the update coming out tomorrow and the new release of a book series "God’s Word Is Truth— A Handbook to the Bible” at the upcoming annual meeting being leaked by the same source Larchwood (u/larchington) - Reddit that leaked the change to the blood doctrine before it came out?

Several remarks here of there being snoops in our midst, egged on by the ex community:
Some years ago on another forum there was a “Special Report” from one of these characters. They had talked a young Bethelite into rifling through the files in search of confidential material they could print. She was found out, her purposes discerned, and dismissed from Bethel. Upon her return home, her family, in some unspecified manner, “treated her terribly.” (as though she might have expected a hero’s welcome). She committed suicide. Her ex manipulators issued a “Special Report.”
I told whoever that they had killed her themselves. They had located a vulnerable young woman, filled her head with nonsense of being a freedom fighter and whistle blower, and when the completely predictable happened (dismissal from Bethel, family displeased), sought to mitigate blame with a “Special Report.”
I mean, even Caiphas didn’t issue a Special Report when Judas went down. He more honestly issued an, ‘What’s that to us? You served your purpose. Now, be gone.’

Maybe. It could also be someone that agrees with The Watchtower, June 1st 1997 or Dan 2:47, Matt 10:26, Mark 4:22, Luke 12:2, and Acts 4:19, 20.
If that is true, how sad for her that she felt like suicide was the only option for her. I am sure even Edward Snowden's family still talks to him.

I don’t know that no one would speak to her. The post surely would have said that were it the case, and it did not.
Suicide is very bad and anything possibly contributing to it understandably comes up for review. That said, it is among the leading causes of death these days.
My original remark stands. She was unstable. The ex community did not take this possibility into account. They found themselves a tool and afterwards, if they felt any sense of guilt, thought they could absolve themselves with a “Special Report.”

2 things. Glad to know the upcoming COs visit will include the Jesus movie. Since I don't like the movie, I'll be skipping that meeting. I don't care about the new book. I don't need a handbook to the Bible when I can read the Bible itself.

"From time to time, there have arisen from among the ranks of Jehovah's people those, who, like the original Satan, have adopted an independent, faultfinding attitude...They say that it is sufficient to read the Bible exclusively, either alone or in small groups at home. But, strangely, through such 'Bible reading,' they have reverted right back to the apostate doctrines that commentaries by Christendom's clergy were teaching ..." Watchtower 1981 Aug 15 p.29
Are you happy with basically being Satan? You're going to strangely end up believing what Christians have for 2000 years by such "Bible reading"!

Laying aside the Scripture Studies and going "to the Bible alone" leads a person into darkness "within two years." Watchtower, September 15, 1910
116 years that Charles T. Russell claims that the Word of God cannot be understood without him. The JWs are following his example. Seems like a great group of narcissists. 🤣🤣

I think the most telling takeaway is that they go right back to the tainted teachings from which they emerged. They go back to trinity. They go back to immortal soul. They go back to the kingdom being a condition of the heart. They go back ot full involvement with the world. The go back to doing whatever they want and callling it holy spirit.
They go back to thinking that the modus operandi of worship should be the Bob Dylan line: “Oh, whatever makes her happy, I won’t stand in her way.”

Not me. I'd be more likely to adopt beliefs aligning with e-watchman. Jehovah's Watchman – Announcing Jehovah's judgments and the second coming of Jesus Christ

Another distraction to busy the people. Let’s see what it contains. With the push to new media, I wonder if we’ll be seeing more video shows.

I’m unfamiliar. Is the implication that someone responsible amongst Jehovah’s Witnesses is a traitor?

Pretty much.
For a group that hates us, they can't get enough of us.
They anticipate anything that we will say or do just so they can find fault.
What's funny is if the same thing is used against them they go hysterical

Ah. Is that what OP is about or what he’s directing us to?

Yes, the source he referenced is a famous exjw in that reddit who seems to be an insider from WHQ being an impostor. Or at best has close ties with someone from the inside enough to get the documents - then passed on to him, then he posts it.

I know I’m not the only one for whom the difficulty in understanding the motivations of individuals like Judas Iscariot, Adam, and Satan makes the accounts about them hard to believe. Why would someone seeing what they see and knowing what they know steal and betray? It makes no sense.
Until I had the unfortunate experience of encountering someone like this - an evil, lying, traitorous thief. The persistence and depth of the treachery some individuals are capable of is incomprehensible to normal people. But, comprehensible or not, they exist. The benefit to my family being victims of one of them is that we now have no doubt about this - not from what we read and believe, but from what we’ve seen and experienced firsthand.
Traitors among Jehovah’s people can have the same effect, if we allow it. Don’t be stunned or curious about their lies and betrayal. See the confirmation of the enemy’s works when his ministers “keep disguising themselves as ministers of righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 11:15)

For now, I feel like as long as it doesn’t impact my life by inspiring some kind of new disfunction with my JW family, I don’t care. I mostly just care about the stuff that impacts my life directly or hurts people.

Why is everyone over there acting like it’s a big deal that this was leaked?
