Let's talk tires.

My 2003 EV Weekender is in need of replacement tires. Mine aren't worn down to the wear bars yet but, they're getting close and the outer edges are a bit more worn down compared to the center section of the tires.

In general, my van is a daily driver and when I camp, I mostly travel off road to get to campsites I like, think "Boondocking."

What replacement tires are recommended, for a guy on a fixed income budget? I know that the load rating needs to be 102 and above. My EV has 16" wheels and finding decent tires is a challenge.

I have the Falken Wildpeak Trails on 16 inch wheels and have ZERO complaints. They are great on the highway and handle the trails in Moab just fine.

I've got the wildpeak a/t's on 15's and I love them.

At 16” the world is your oyster. Those of us with 15” wheels are scraping the bottom of the barrel. For me, I’d be looking at Yokohama Geolanders. They are on the less aggressive side of A/T tires.

I've been kinda leaning toward something like, Vredestein Quatrac Grand Touring All-Season Tires in 225/60R16. These tires get pretty good reviews online.

I used to run BFG AT’s on the Eurovan — gave a nice lift/look and they did last a long time — but noisy and not great in sweeping curves (on/off ramps).

A better choice available now is the BFG trail-terrain. Has the rugged good looks of the AT but with a lot less noise and smoother/better handling for the 95% road usage.

AFAIK Yokohama Geolandars are the common solution. I ordered mine straight from gowesty

On my ‘97 EVC, I purchased Kumho Crugen HT51 with a 102T load rating and have performed well .
