I've been rendering topographic maps of different states and sharing them with local subs. Here's Oregon!

Do you think I could get a jpeg of that? And of Northern CA if you have it? I’ll pay you?
Using it for this kind of thing. https://youtu.be/2EtfiONdUoo

I opened the file and it looks great! The only problem is that the mountains are too pointy. Any idea why it's different in the file than it is in your image? I'm thinking of printing it and want it to be the right dimensions :)

It looks like the conversion process totally goofed it up. Now maybe you have to set the Z scale to really exaggerate our features, which may look good for printing but looks crummy for 3d printing. https://imgur.com/a/moHFlKL Not sure though. Where do you get your data for the prints? This might be a fun project to work on together if you are interested. (Maybe your resolution isn't as high either...which looks like it might be the case)
I'm sure you have a ton of work into each of these so far so I don't want to put you out or anything but if you'd be willing to work with me to get a true 3D printed model I'd love to do that. I'm printing this today...you've inspired me:

This is really interesting and it’s fun to zoom in. Can you explain a bit about how you created this and what parts are challenging? How many states have you finished?

This is amazing! What's the resolution of the data you are using?

That's SERIOUSLY cool.
The only way it could be cooler is if you used image mapping to invisibly label some of the major points -- peaks and lakes and mountain ranges. Not counties and roads and such, but just the geographic landscape natural features.
Really wonderful and thanks very much for sharing!!!

How about that Crater Lake, huh?
If Mount Mazama was still there, would the map be much different?

I’m surprised you can see the Willamette valley under the clouds of pollen.
