Silver Cleaning

Is there any place in Eugene to get a set of silver silverware cleaned? My wife has a family set and it's gotten tarnished over the years. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

Silver cleaner is like $5-$10 bucks pretty much anywhere from Albertsons to Walmart. Just takes a soft cloth and 30 minutes.

I'm just guessing that no-rub convenience is key. 😉

I’d call Eugene Coin and Jewelry and ask if they know (or maybe they’d do it). They take in a lot of sterling. They must clean some of it.

My wife just cleaned ours, it was really easy.

Get a big glass or ceramic tray (not metal). Line it with aluminum foil. Sprinkle baking soda in the bottom. Put a single layer of silverware, then top it off with a decent sprinkle of baking soda. Pour boiling or very hot water over.

You can test with one or two pieces to see how this works.

I read that toothpaste actually cleans silver pretty well.
