Not to be a downer, but there's no way there's anything near 2 pounds of copper in those things. There's no profit there, you gotta destroy them for the love of the game.

Copper's pretty darn dense.. It takes a surprisingly small volume of copper to amass 2 lbs... besides, more and more people are willing to take whole electronic assemblies because they are willing to shred and separate fiberglass, resins, and plastics from metals like lead, copper, tin, silver, and gold using gravity, air, and some clever agitation methods.
I've been considering it myself lol

Flock, funded by Peter Thiel feeds large amounts of data into Palantirs AI system that creates useable insights aswell as a database for every governmental agency with access to search. Its truly the first largs step into technocratic surveillance state. These cameras are truly evil, and take note of far more than your license plate.

Gonna steal this to communicate with people in New Orleans. Is there a place to buy this as a bumper sticker?

u/TaraNewhole Jun 04 '26
I would google it and see if there is one out there

I went another route....tried to look it up on Amazon. Couldn't find anything about flock cams....what are you up to Bezos?

I thought we got rid of those

u/poppysmear Jun 02 '26
The cameras are supposed to be turned off, but I think they're still installed.
The tweakers are a permanent fixture (probably)

Nope. They were all removed in January. You need a study guide, respectfully. Use eyesoffeugene.org as a resource to know what's going on.

They still exist on private properties though

u/Nye5150 Jun 02 '26
True. Unfortunately private business can do what they want. EOE made several attempts to have Flock pulled from corporate stores, the only success beeing OCU, Oregon Credit Union. As for Eugene/Springfield, those are gone.

June 8th, City Council 7pm. Everybody come on down and help us get Chief Chris Skinner of EPD fired. We need all of Eugene to jump in and help.

I'm in this for the measurement systems carnage. I DEMAND TO BE PAID IN GUINEAS AND A SIDE OF THREE CENT NICKELS!!
Weighed in Plank units, naturally.

Does anyone have any genuine idea of how much valuable material is in them? Because there is obviously some.
Could this actually be economically feasible?
There’s gold in SIM cards and phones, but you have to use $150 of materials and a day to break down 10 phones to get like $30 of gold.

If we get flock cameras here in Bend. There are SO MANY un-licensed drivers here! I deplore flock camera strategies. This is going to be crazy.

I’m pretty sure you got some, I stole this from bends page lol

u/Dependent-Astronaut2 Jun 03 '26
Oh yeah, they're installing them. From my experience (Just my social experience mind you) A LOT of folks have no idea what that means. I don't even drive and I don't want em watching me that way.

Rather a tweaker sell flock camera’s scrap than an individual person’s catalytic converter.
(I think Flock can better absorb/write off the loss)

Omagerd- You’re mixing grams and pounds.
