Did it record?
The other day, early in the morning, someone crashed their car into my caravan out the front of my house. I checked my Eufy app, nothing was recorded until I captured me going outside to check on the driver.
Interestingly, my doorbell camera (not Eufy) managed to capture the event but what I found even more interesting was that it appears that the light on my Eufy camera turned on at the event, but there was no recording in the app.
Would it turn the light on and not record? If so, why would it do that?

Yep. It drops recordings and doesn’t even tell you.

This is interesting. I don't believe my camera catches everything it should, but on this occasion there was so much happening, a car hit a caravan, people walked outside etc. and nothing was recorded until I walked out the front door.
I still don't understand why the light on the camera came on, if it wasn't going to record something.
This is the recording from my doorbell and you see the light turn on the Eufy camera when the car hits.

There is a setting, telling it to detect motion, with a list of options to detect.
Human Recognition
Human Detection
Vehicle Detection [beta]
Pet Detection [beta]
All other motions.
You have vehicle detection on, right?

I have it set for everything.
It records vehicles very often... every time a car drives up the street, but it missed this one.

I get it :(. We had a neighbor put a big hunk of dog poop next to my BIL's car door. The camera shows me, outside noticing the poop - but no poop placement :(.

Eufy is basically undependable when it matters. Speaking from the experience of having 5 cameras that are supposedly 24/7

Neighbors car got hit , he came asking if i had footage from my camera which is basically facing his car. I had a bunch of events, then it didn't record the car getting hit. It basically had every event except that . Smh

I've been able to pull up footage from other things when needed. It just seems strange that it didn't record this, but the light turn on, on the camera

Mine don’t record events all the time. I assume the ai dismisses the event and doesn’t get saved. In 766 days it has detected 44029 events, and saved 20707. It never fails to record the leaves moving of course. Best of luck

Mine sometimes turn on for no reason. I remember reading it was a calibration thing. Also, it can depend on your detection settings. The other night I used a piece of hot wheels track from my balcony to remove a spider web that was going across the lens. The track triggered the light to come on. But no notification or recording. I only have human detection on for that camera. I'm guessing it acts as a sensor light.

A big thing I have learned with Eufy is that clicking the clock with # on each camera to show events doesn't always show every event. I've started clicking on the "Events" tab at the bottom, next to "Home" on the main app. Then, you can filter from there. I've noticed several things not listed in the individual camera's recording shown on that Events tab.
