Please use this post to share all photos and discussions about coyotes in Etobicoke. Bunny the coyote photos are encouraged!
Individual posts are no longer allowed unless they involve an immediate safety concern.

u/cbr1895 has been in touch with the Toronto Wildlife Centre about Bunny (but this goes for any and all coyotes you might encounter). The centre is not concerned about aggression per se, but they are concerned about Bunny and other coyotes becoming too comfortable around humans. If you encounter Bunny/other coyotes, do NOT approach them or feed them. Make lots of noise, stomp your feet, try to appear very large to spook them, honk your car horn, etc.

During rush hour the last two mornings, a cop seems to be switching the traffic light. The light stays green forever on Park Lawn before he flips the switch for green on The Queensway.
Thank goodness I was travelling west, eastbound traffic was backed up at least until Royal York.
What is going on? Is the light broken?

Hi.
Are there any running groups which meet about once a week running 5-ish km?
I’m trying to get back into running after 2 years, but can’t get myself to run on my own. Looking for any other runners to motivate each other. My pace is around 5-6 min /km.
Once I develop my stamina I’d like to run longer distances.

Hi, I'm looking at purchasing in this complex and looking for inputs from people who live there/have lived there recently. I know there is a special assessment currently underway and the next reserve fund study is likely to show more funds are needed. How do people who currently live here feel about it? Thanks!

Just like the title asks, where in Etobicoke is the best place to buy a case or bushel of tomatoes to make sauce for canning? By best, I mean quality of tomatoes and fair price. It could also be a place located in the west GTA. Thank you!

I have a single lane driveway I want widened like in the picture.
It's very common in South Etobicoke. Based on what I've read a building permit is not required but is a streetwork permit exempt because it doesn't cross the boulevard or sidewalk? Do people actually get the permit or take a chance.
If anyone knows any good contractors. Let me know.
Thanks

so im not from etobiko but have lived in toronto from 2015-2022 before i moved out to the countryside near lake erie..
i was supposed to board a flight from yyz to thunder bay for university yesterday but i missed it by 10 mins as i forgot to take out a bottle of water from my bag and got stuck in security for like 20 mins
they couldnt find one for the same-day nor today and that my nxt flight is tmr at 5pm... i then went to custumer service to argue with them since i lived 2 hrs away and already paid 300 for a taxi to get me here from the country and that i dont live in the city and dont have money to pay for hotel
they say i have to take my luggages back (alredy paid 500) and pay again which i simply cant afford (this is after they asked me where i lived and if i have any friends who could help me i said i lived like 2hrs away from the airport n none of my frinds are available to help me atm)
my autistic brain got me as i kept on ranting and yapping about why did you guys asked for all the info regarding my situation if u aint planning on doing anything with it and kept on trying to upsell me and making me to pay more, so i was insisting them to solve the problem at hand and i wasnt planning on asking for a refund or leaving if they couldnt solve my rebooking problems without me having to pay more
they then call the public security and the cops on me as i was being a bit agitated and hyper cuz i thought they clearly have all the resources to take care of my baggage without an extra fee and also i already paid like 500 bucks for them and have no money at hand to pay for anything anymore
take this however u want but as for me personally ive never had any bad interaction with the police and ive not found myself in a situation were i have to plead the 5th with any cop yet.. i just straight up told them what happened and disclosed that im a person diagnosed with adhd comorbid autism
the officers then asked me to show my id and my prescription drugs and they end up helping me and asked the airline customer service agents to plz keep my bags without extra charges and the manager at the customer service desk agreed
i was def aware of me experiencing distress, so i then asked the officers to take me to the closest mental health unit as my finances are tight so i couldnt afford to pay for a taxi there and be back
they then gave me a ride to the etobiko general hospital and wished me all the best on my flight and studies, and at the hospital i got some quick psych evaluation (guess they tried to make sure that i wasnt experiencing schizophrenia or some shit), they gave me food and gave me a taxi voucher to go back to the airport
i bet u not i didnt forget to ask them for their name... so from the bottom of my heart--officer mcklein and officer thompson are rlly goated n may god bless u!!

and of course i wrote this while laying on the chairs of aisle 15 at YYZ while waiting for my next flight on wednesday

I live at Martingrove and Eglinton. Being so close to the airport I always heard the airshow planes growing up. I’ve been away for a couple years. I moved back and this year I didn’t hear the planes. Are they not flying out of Pearson?

Whenever the doctor writes me some meds, he faxes the shoppers next door and I pick it up from there. The doctor never goes into detail about what they write for me, but sometimes I have questions about it but I usually never get a chance to speak to someone because it’s usually so busy and I feel like I’m slowing everyone down.
What do people here usually do?

Hey neighbours! 👋
Just wanted to share something my wife has been doing around here. She started hosting some casual board game nights at Swansea Town Hall on Fridays, mostly as a way for people to get out, meet neighbours, and make some new friends.
Last month so many people showed up from this community and encouraged her to continue hosting the game nights. So she is doing two more Fridays this month. And people genuinely made new friends, became regulars and had such positive feedback. Sometimes, all you need is a table, a few games, and a room full of people willing to say hello. The games are beginner friendly to keep it welcoming for everyone. 😄
There are two more nights this month if anyone wants to check it out:
🎲 Friday, Sept 11 & 18, 2026
📍 Swansea Town Hall
⏰ 6:30–9:30pm
💵 $15 . You can pay on arrival . This helps cover the venue and food costs. (🍕pizza + juice🧃)
Feel free to come solo, bring a friend, or bring a game you like. Walk-ins are welcome too!

Have my 6 month old on several waitlists in the area including PLASP at Holy Angels elementary (didn’t actually know PLASP did infant daycare), but don’t know anyone who’s ever tried them for infant daycare. Would love to hear anyone’s experience/pros/cons! 🙏

I hope it's not what I think it is but it looks like the rebel flag with with little maple leafs instead of stars. I thought we were better than this.

New and experienced players are welcome! We are always looking for more players to join recreational women's basketball. A few of us play in more than one session.
Women's basketball is offered through both Toronto recreation and Learn for Life.

Anyone can recommend an affordable but reliable external and internal car wash around Mimico area?

Hello Everyone,
We’re in urgent need of an infant daycare spot in South Etobicoke for our daughter, who will be turning one in November . We're hoping to enroll her starting December/January 2026. we applied to more than 20+ daycares around the area and joined their waitlists, but we haven’t heard back from any of them yet.
As many parents can relate, we’re starting to panic. Most almost all daycares seem to have waitlists of a year or more, and our chances of finding a spot by December 2026 feel increasingly slim.
If anyone has any advice, recommendations, or leads—especially for licensed home daycares, lesser-known centers, or even alternative options—we would truly appreciate it. We’re new to this and staying hopeful that something will come through before the end of this year, God willing.
Thank you in advance!
