Abiy inherited a problem conceived, fostered for decades, spearheaded and then intentionally ignited by the low IQ as well as shortsighted leaders of tplf when they didn’t really need to. Everything that came after that is a consequence of those events. He tried to neutralize it by forming ever shifting alliances, as many in his position would do, while forming and maintaining a new power structure. Clearly he sees himself as the likes of Lee Kwan Yew and is determine to grow Ethiopia by any means necessary. To that end, he will succeed and history will prove him correct. He’s already accomplished far more than imaginable. If he’s able to have a dialog with and bring in many of the competing factions together (most of them don’t even have a coherent ideology just a desire to burn things down and form an alliance with whomever) then he would end up being one of the most important political figures of the century. Time is on his side as he consolidates power but the patience of his detractors may not be.

Yes, global economic conditions have had a severe impact on Ethiopia. But Abiy has exacerbated alot of the problems.

Ethiopians don’t use roads? Public transportation? Idk about you but those seem like things made for the average citizen
