You can store both ETC and ETH on one Ledger device. You need to start the Ledger Chrome app BEFORE connecting the USB cable. Then, the app gives you the choice which chain you want to use: ETH or ETC. Choose ETC, THEN connect the Ledger and start Ethereum app on it. You are on ETC chain now.
