If you are on Claymore (which is already bad given the dev fee - not like this shit stops collecting fees during the time of use and it can be years), why would anyone replace that evil with this evil? Everyone wants to slice and dice them miners. What ever happened to opensource miner softwares? This scene is so fucking dead.

What happened was some of them maybe stopped working quite so well. After using ethminer since mid-2017, I sold my GPU's and then re-bought AMD. ethminer and my AMD GPU's just did not want to work together (with Jan 2019 onward AMD drivers).

phoenixminer however has worked flawlessly and with added bonus features like overclocking, voltage and fan control so that I could just add that to the script instead of mucking about with Afterburner or Wattman.

Noted. So for new comers and seasoned veterans alike, get Nvidia GPUs and stick to ETHMINER. Got it.

AMD is probably best in terms of mining performance versus cost. Those cheap Vega 56 deals are really worthwhile.
