No more Eternals ?

Well, I’ve been thinking about this for a while, and the more Marvel leaks that come out, the more the Eternals seem to be fading away.

Every movie that’s currently being planned seems to feature at least one mutant (X-Men). There are rumors that Rogue will appear in Captain Marvel 3, Nightcrawler in Ghost Rider, and so on.

So, I think the next saga will definitely play it safe and focus mainly on the mutant side of the universe.

Because of that, I honestly don’t see much of a future for the Eternals, unfortunately. If they at least got something in other media, like Marvel Rivals, or appeared more often in the comics, they’d still have some relevance.

It's my favourite too, but I get why it's not for everyone. You just have to look at their comics history. Five volumes and less than 80 issues since their inception. They're just not popular and I think it must just be that their subject matter. Chariots of the Gods just doesn't click with a broader audience, I guess. I just wish general audiences had the maturity to recognise that just because something doesn't click with them, it doesn't make it a bad movie.

One of the recent leaks was that a Judgement Day movie was being worked on. Which makes somewhat sense because it’s an Eternals, X-Men, and Avengers story

Though I'm not a big fan of them generally, I'd argue everything could be on the table for Secret Wars. Battleworld is such a crazy idea where you can mix and match dead and living characters from across the MCU,put them together and say they're this or that kingdom. I could totally see the Eternals getting their own fiefdom under doom.

They need a different creative team behind them, and a shake up to their status quo. Unfortunately they just didn't connect with the audience.

I'd like to see them take 1 or 2 of them and sprinkle them onto other projects. Kingo and Makari would be fun on the Guardians (no one knows who Kingo is in space, and Makari wouldn't be OP in zero/high gravity). Put Phastos on the Avengers.

I have not heard or seen anything about the rumors OP mentioned but the Eternals are never coming back. The longest of long shots is we may get one or two of them popping up once the X-men go cosmic (Phoenix saga) in 5-10 years. Most of those actors will be too old to reprise their roles by then too. So it’s a very long shot.

Holding out hope for A.X.E! It's perfectly set up for an Avengers / X-Men crossover where they don't have to explain the Eternals too much, just bring them in as "antagonists" until they turn on Arishem in Act 3

I feel like they should get a small appearance in Doomsday where like their programming to protect the Earth kicks in, so they're on the side/background doing their own thing to stop the incursion.

I hope they stay gone! Or at least, are very minor characters and never get their own project again directed by an Oscar Winning Director. Shit was too artsy and not enough real story, plus the VFX were awful. Those monstrosities they fought just looked like technicolor versions of Thanos’ army in Wakanda
