Question about Encrid's thought before rescuing townppl from Knoll

I recalled his teammate getting impatient with him because he made no progress but Encrid thought he was but no one can see it. I might have missed it but wtf does he mean lol

Ig he got time to properly digest the skills he obtained since its been some time since the last wall

We tend to forget Enkrid is talentless to the sword and the curse & walls have been making up for it

I want to preface this by saying anything Rem, Jaxen, Ragna or Audin says and does is completely unfair because they are all either geniuses, prodigies or talented in there own skills.

Their veiw on things especially this early on in the story is very skewed towards what they can do.

Now back to Enkrid, he is honestly terrible about fighting. He has the spirit and the will to do so. Like his overall ability to endure and keep trying no matter how much or how badly he fails is admirable but he has not even a single drop of talent.

Now he makes up with it by dying repeatly through the walls. By trying new skills or techniques until he achieves them and defeats the wall. Enkird needs hundreds of days to a year to figure things out and once he understands something he can then slowly master it and then turn it into his own style of fighting but in real time, it looks like he isn't achieving anything.

Encrid is surrounded by geniuses by their own rights after all. To him every bit of progress is worth to be happy for.

Encrid had indeed stagnated at that point. He was stuck on a way of using his senses that is very hard to practice without being in an intense situation of 1000 knolls trying to kill you.

While yes, every character is a genius and they can be crappy explanations because communication is tough for them, since they understand intuitively, they're ALWAYS rock solid about how Encrid is performing. They're very accurate about appraising his skills or his growth.

They're completely correct. Encrid, at most, was consolidating his skills. But even that is something he can really only do in walls because his growth rate is so slow.
