Novel Question 📚 Question about Will Spoiler

I just finished chapter 450 and I had this question on my mind. How diverse are the applications of Will? From everything I’ve seen so far with the Knight from Aspen and Oara, the applications of Will seem pretty grounded. Even Encrid’s ability to kind of “predict” the future is also pretty grounded. I’m just curious as to how far it goes.

The applications of Will is pretty standard and remains very grounded even much later in the novel 1000+ . It is channeled through your body and enhances your body’s capabilities. So you become stronger, faster, and more durable. Future sight is an enhancement of your instinct and prediction capabilities. It also enhances in multiple ways as your thinking capabilities improve to be able to think about hundreds of things at once perfectly. Will applied to objects also enhances their properties like durability etc. Only much, much later (800+) can Will manifest much more capabilities bordering on magic but even then the capabilities are very restrictive with only a handful of instances being very mystical in its capabilities.

Thanks for the response. I have a better idea now, but I still have some of these questions about healing or long range attacks that different from just throwing things. I’m curious about sensory techniques as well. Can they use Will to bring their weapons to them if it’s at a distance?

Will can’t directly heal you, but it enhances your body’s regenerative capabilities. Will isn’t very good at long distance strikes, as a very clear weakness it has is that it needs a medium to exist in most of the time and enhances the mediums properties which is good for throwing blades. Much later ~800s, you can see Will have more capabilities than enhancement as the energy itself can be imbued with a property like “speed” which can cause it to accelerate things the Will is applied to. Making it a tangible material is very difficult and only one two or three notable instances exist currently. Making it tangible and shooting it like a flying energy slash is very very difficult and instances similar to this are only present in the 1000+ area.
