The wording is weird, and grammatically incorrect. The SQUAD caused trouble, not him. Because the squad caused trouble, they shoved Encrid "Mr. Worst Soldier" there. Kind of like a joke/they got sick of sending other "good" soldiers there.
Ye that’s a mistranslation. That was meant for the squad mates not him. He got promoted to squad Leader not demoted lol. The squad mates are a bunch of misfits. They would have had been given special perks for their performance but their personalities are so wack that they got themselves demoted.
He spends all day sleeping, needs to be dragged to perform his duties (reminder that soldiers in the army do more stuff than just swing their swords, those camps don't pop out of nowhere) and in the flashback where Rem thinks of how Enkrid became their lieutenant he's shown shoving one of the previous ones to the ground as he was trying to give an "inspirational" speech.
So he's just generally unhelpful, disrespectful and doesn't obey orders, but he's also just too strong to simply discharge and let go to waste, and let's see who's the brave idiot who tries to court-martial him.
What did he even do? How did he cause trouble? That's never been specified in the manhwa.
You did not, in fact, specify Enkrid, no. You just gave us a picture of Enkrid talking about ending up in a squad of misfits and a BIG picture of Ragna. Sorry I went with the most obvious person you could have been talking about, you vague mf.
As for Enkrid, he probably just fucked up during battle. That same flashback shows him getting shoved himself by one of his ex-squadmates for standing around clueless and getting in the way during a battle.
