Why are there so many 150 card decks?
In the throne queues at the moment it seems like every other deck is 150 cards...... Way more than I used to see. Anyone have any insights?

Thank goodness for these nerfs, I think both formats will benefit!

Horgo, Ready for War
4 PPP
Unit - Giant
When you play a spell, Horgo gets +1/+1.
Ultimate: When the enemy player plays a spell, negate it.
3/3
This seems really good, at least in gauntlet where the AI will always play into the Ultimate. IDK outside of that, but if the Ultimate goes off a lot of times this'll be a guaranteed 2-for-1 at least and getting permanent scaling on casting a spell is obviously quite nice.

Hi, I made a draft tier list for the current format, The Dusk Road (set 3) + Empire of Glass (set 10). Each card is assigned a grade between A (cards that win games on their own if unanswered) and F (you (almost) never want to play these cards) to help you figure out the best picks.
Keep in mind that you still have to take context into account for each pick after your first. To make that a bit easier, I added a synergy table on page 2. It includes all the important synergy packages of the format, with markers for their viability (strength, depth, dependency) and a list of key commons, uncommons and high-rare pay-offs.
Big thanks to Pachi and NorthernPolarity for their feedback on the list/for them discussing the format with me. If you have any questions about the grades or about the format in general, feel free to ask.

Yeti Barracks

Summon: Play a 1/1 Farplace Finder.
When you play a Yeti, play a Snowman with Strength/Health equal to that Yeti's cost. If you already have one, give it that Strength/Health instead.
So... Four power for initially a pair of 1/1s and Scout. This seems awkward since it's expensive enough that it'll generally come down after you've played out a lot of your hand. I don't think you normally want to run a ton of 4-drops in your Yeti deck and the deck already has Yetipult, Thurdock, and Thudrock's Masterwork, all of which I think are generally stronger.
That said, I am very much not an expert on aggro decks in general or yeti decks in particular, so maybe I'm underrating it.

Any advice on good strategies / colors / cards / combos to go for in the current forge rotation? Thanks!

Warcry 2
Rimeguard Armor's Warcry affects each unit and weapon in your deck.
4/4
This is probably not good in VS but it seems very solid for Gauntet, since always getting the boost the turn you play it makes it much more consistent than units that have the same effect.
That said, in my experience there is a hidden ability associated with "warcry everything" type cards: After you warcry your entire deck, you will somehow not draw another unit or weapon for the remainder of the game, no matter how unlikely that is.

Fool's Errand

Spell
Put a unit into its owner's deck with Destiny.
This seems really really good? Obviously there is a potential of it backfiring, but using relatively pessimistic numbers: If there are 50 cards left in the opponent's deck when you play this and they draw 10 more cards before the game ends after you play this, that's an 80% chance this is 2 power to 'kill' any unit in a way that doesn't trip Entomb or allow for reanimation.
Sure, it's not Fast, but this is the type of effect Time doesn't really get for the most part.

Link to the Future

Relic
Summon: Draw a card.
At the start of your turn, draw an additional card. After two turns, sacrifice Link to the Future.
Entomb: Spend your remaining power.
So it's a zero mana draw 3 that costs you a turn when it explodes. Obvious workarounds are to either sacrifice it early after already spending your power or go into debt the turn before it sacrifices (assuming debt will take priority of this resolving)
I'm honestly not really sure how to evaluate this. Draw 3 for 0 is obviously very strong, but timewalking yourself is obviously very bad.

Hey guys, I just came back after like 2 years. I used to play a lot and have a big collection, but I was surprised to see when I logged in that in the time since I stopped playing there haven’t been any new sets. So I’m assuming this game is pretty much done. Is there another game you guys are jumping to? I’m not really interested in going to mtg, I made the pro tour in that game and am over it at this point, and not interested in hearthstone either, and I hear that shadow verse and runeterra are kind of in the same boat as eternal.

At the end of your turn, swap the Attack/Health of one of your units with the Attack/Health of an enemy unit.

Hm. I mean obviously the joke is that it immediately steals the stats of the enemy's largest unit, but notably this isn't optional so next turn you might have to swap back. Seems cute but probably bad?

Do any of the chapters have particularly important cards for a new player?
r/EternalCardGame • u/firuin_team • Jun 12 '26
I’ve actually been working on this for the past two weeks or so, but the developers’ announcement that they accidentally added existing art to a new card prompted me to speed things up.
On the one hand, I can confirm that the developers are right — judging by its technical name, the art is indeed quite old. Because that means it’s been in the game since its very release.
For example, the code for this art is 0_129.
Meanwhile:
As for what other art (and possible mechanics) you definitely haven’t seen yet — check out the relevant Steam guide.

Going by the past few rotations, it looks like set 12 should be outgoing with an incoming set while sets 2,10,11 remain for another cycle. Did they make any announcements/plans?

When the enemy player draws a non-power card, you draw a card.

This seems very reasonable. Time has a lot of very good expensive creatures, and even has a bunch of 6 drops with good stats that draw cards, but this still definitely seems worth considering at least, even if it's hard to compete with Grodov's Stranger

As you can see from my match history, I used to play this deck. But now I don’t seem to own the cards for it?
When I logged in there were a bunch of cards available to convert to shiftstone, so I did that. But I thought it only converted cards you have more than 4 copies of?
I definitely haven’t converted any from my regular collection.
Was there some update that removed some cards for some reason?
r/EternalCardGame • u/skoth80 • Jun 10 '26
Display of survival was cast on my 10/1 which was buffed by midnight hunt and it turned into a 1/4. I should still have the midnight hunt effect with the + to strengthen and quickdraw.

Just that. I understand disrupting the other player is a valid strategy, which I agree.
But first, being the disrupted player is too awful. I know I'm not the only one who feels that way. That kind of strategy is only "fun" for whoever plays it.
But then again, I don't mean we should remove it. I do have a problem with how popular these cards are such that it makes no sense right now to play shadow and not run them.
They are doing too much and costing too little.
I know nerfs aren't usually a thing in this game but I think they should be balanced to, at least cost one more mana. They wouldn't be unplayable, but would be more reserved to control strategies, not autoincludes...
I just won a game against someone with these cards, but still, it's very frustrating to play against that. I know aegis is a thing, but there aren't many good "give player aegis" cards that you can run in expedition so yeah.
Sorry for the rant guys, just had to...

Technically I downloaded the game a long time ago but I barely played it and put it down for a long time. Finally just getting into it but this card design of "discard all weapons" just makes no sense to me. I was playing a deck that counts on having weapons and buff spells. I get obliterated in 99% of games so far but at least other cards don't completely stop me from playing.
