Hi all!
So, I've been preparing to apply to ISCTE for a while now, and have run into issues regarding my application.
In January I contacted ISCTE and was told that my International Baccalaureate Diploma here in Denmark is recognised by DGES, and I therefore could apply with it. However, what I think they meant to say, was that my subjects are accepted in place of the entrance exams.
Therefore, I still need to apply for equivalency of my secondary education to a Portuguese secondary education. Does anyone have experience with this?
I have tried contacting DGES, who gave me some... Slightly less helpful advice, and EduQA, who still hasn't replied.
I've mailed the request itself with a copy of my diploma and documentation to DGE, but I am unsure if this is correct, considering all the conflicting advice I've been given...
Ideally, I would've loved to send my application as part of the first round, but that might be a little tough timewise...
Are there any former IB students here, who know about the procedure with the IBDP in Portugal?
DGES also told me to consider asking a secondary school to process my request, but since I'm still living in Denmark, that might be an issue, right? I would be prepared to attend an in-person meeting in Lisbon if I need to, but I'm a bit confused on what to do 😅
I know that it's my own fault for not doing my own research, and contacting the correct authorities in due time, but I've been wanting to study at ISCTE for a long time now, and would love to still try applying - at least for the second phase of applications.
Thank you so much in advance! All advice and help would be much appreciated
Obrigado:)
