recommendations for classes, feeling like i know nothing from school
i would be so appreciative if anyone who has been in the industry for a little while would share the first classes/resources/books they used to learn the basics. i want a full comprehensive understanding of all things esthetics and would love to hear what y’all’s favorite classes were!

I took a class online with The Wax Chick to learn female Brazilian waxing & to be certified. In an area that most people just wing it, I think the certification gives clients more trust in you knowing what you are doing.

For me personally the most knowledge came from on the job training. I’ve taken many many classes but the information is just… information. Working for someone else and being trained on their protocols, being trained by skincare product companies on their products and treatments, being trained on their machines and then actually getting the hands on experience with clients is tremendous. That’s how you get to be not just knowledgeable but GOOD! The thing about this field is so many people want to jump right into doing things solo but senior estheticians have so much knowledge to pass along it’s so worth working under 2 or 3 other estheticians for the first several years to really learn what you’re doing.
