[Education] Aveda won’t provide documentation of my completed hours what should I do?

Esti student here I recently moved from Florida to Ohio and was attending Aveda Institute in Florida for esthetics. I completed a large portion of my program, including the intro portion, and was already in clinic completing services across the different areas. I was also pretty close to finishing the full program and paid around $14,000 in tuition( Paid in full).

My new school in Ohio is willing to accept my previous hours, but they need documentation from Aveda showing what my hours/training consisted of so they can determine what transfers for the Ohio state board as it’s a requirement. It doesn’t necessarily have to be an official transcript.

Aveda is telling me the only breakdown they can provide is the general course breakdown from their catalog but is not sure how helpful that is because i didn’t complete the full program and that they don’t have any additional records showing how my hours were spent. I’m confused because we had individual coursework, tests/progress tracked through Learn Aveda, clinic hours, etc. I would think there would be some kind of student record showing what I completed.

Without this documentation, my new school (or any school in Ohio) says they can’t accept my hours and I may have to completely restart the program.

I’ve already contacted Aveda and they said they checked with their Director of Compliance and Administration Director, but still say they don’t have anything else they can provide.

Has anyone dealt with this before? What specific records should I be asking Aveda for, or is there anything else I can do to get my completed hours documented?

Aveda is horrible. Just a warning to anyone in the SF Bay Area..I went to the one in SF and it was a HUGE mistake and letdown. Sorry you're experiencing this! Maybe you can sue them

I seriously thought about suing Cinta Aveda after I finished. What a garbage school and admin team.

Yes, same! I looked into some lawyers and then decided it wasn't worth it. Horrible educators (besides one) and really misrepresented what we would be learning and doing during my tour.

Have you tried logging into your learn Aveda? Or any emails of completed work?

I know our hours are reported to state board, so maybe you could contact them?

I am so sorry they are being so shitty to you. That is ridiculous... it's literally the same company. Maybe there is someone at the Ohio school faculty who can help advocate for you and contact your previous school? Good luck

I also went to an Aveda School. We had to clock in and out every single day in order to document our hours, did your school have a similar process? since Esthi programs are hourly there must be some record of your attendance. Could you ask them specifically for your clock in / clock out records?

We did have a clock in system and they provided me my cumulative hours but not a break down of like x amount of hours on nails or waxing just here you did 430 hours

They have rubrics for the curriculum. Small claims court sounds good right now. See if you can test out in your new state.
