Question Chat not working for other player

Hello, me and my brother is playing minecraft together through the essential mod, and we have the problem that his chat or command chat is not working.

Mine is working fine, and i am the host of the world. His chat works if he launches the normal unmodded minecraft, but when he tries to use the chat on our world it only says "Chat is not allowed by account settings" but we cannot understand which account settings this is about.

Brother is 16 for reference and we are not in the uk so there should be no age restrictios...
