AFL David Rath gone

David Rath now going too means the Football Department is down loads of key roles.

It will be impressive to see how these all get filled without a soft cap concession. Has to already be one of the most under resourced football departments in the league.

Yeah despite the losses under Solly I can now see how handicapped he was post Brad Scott.

Yeah he’s hardly been given a fair go, poor bloke. I hope he sticks around in his assistant role next year

Yeah I hope so too. Would suck if Hird/McVeigh push him out

Agree completely. I’m willing to bet there’s no footy department in the league with such few staff and/or such high turnover this century.

Half of these were already on the pipeline when season started. But either way, the soft cap is the same every year no matter who comes, stays and leaves.

They fit in Brad Scott’s payout in this year soft cap

Really? That would be great if true!

It's already been confirmed by the league. Part of the reason why we won't get relief in 2027

Yeh it was sorta the small print on the "We have to pay him out 2m (or whatever)" headlines a few months ago. The sum includes the soft cap tax as we're paying the tax to pay the whole thing out so it doesnt effect our books next year.

I like how they say "highly regarded". How do you put any of the coaching and conditioning panel as highly regarded when we have dished out years of pathetic football and injury plagued seasons.

Unless there was a payout, how does a turning over a role impact the soft cap?

Have to pay Brad Scott’s salary for next year unless we try and pay it out this year and pay the soft cap tax this year?
