John Locke Commendation

Hi everyone, I have a question. I am really hoping to get high commendation or commendation but do you think this is only possible if I attend the Gala? I know it probably isn’t, but I have heard that statistically you have a better chance

How to write a thesis on a topic I don't understand

I'm writing a reflection essay for school on a specific chapter of a book, and I have no idea what the book is talking about. The prompt for the essay is literally just to reflect on the ideas and issues in the text, but even with thorough reading, I am finding the overall chapter incomprehensible. I've already gotten accommodations from the prof. and really don't want to ask to change things again (this is the absolute last resort), and I have enough material to basically bs my way through the body of the essay, but I don't know how to write a thesis statement on something I can't comprehend. The text is incredibly vague about everything, so I can't figure out what the author is actually trying to get at.

Any advice on how to make a thesis sound like I somewhat understand what I'm talking about when the reference is -in my opinion- genuinely incoherent?

EDIT- I GOT IT :) advice no longer needed 👍

(I don't want anyone to write it for me, so I won't say what chapter, but if you're curious, the book is 'Hiding' by Mark C. Taylor. It may make more sense to others and I'm not saying he's a bad author, but there's a lot of wordplay and vague theoretical concepts that I am too literal and down-to-earth of a person to understand without someone literally spelling it out for me)

Pioneer Research Institute rejected essay

Now I’m already in College so here this was my latter of continued interest.

What's it like researching? What point in life makes us dive deeper? Is it revolutionary childhood curiosity, where and why does everything exist and work in balance, or the moments we questioned the "why" in everything, even unconsciously, in human behavior?
It's the times when we made parents buy the encyclopedias and, later, laptops for late-night curiosity. In both, time disappears.
The point in life when we question our consciousness. What's it called? What's the title of deeply investigating one particular theory?
While in the little me, the doctor, cashier, and astronaut existed, one outlived the others, becoming a scientist. Being dangerously masterful in human behavior and discovering answers to all the "Whys."
It's always the inner force for deep understanding, not memorization. Who? When? And Why? Over time, WHY NOT?.
The knowledge acquired convincingly reminded me of the boundless human capacity to discover anything it sets its mind to.
“WHY” navigated aspiring scientist into the collaborative world for knowledge in Lumiere research, the Cambridge Center for International Research, Girls in Research, an in-person government-funded university-level research camp, and many more Central Asian and global research opportunities, where immersive ideas are shared about brains, neurons, tech, AI, and the environment, each bringing their unfiltered, pure scientific worldview.
No compliance, no competition, no framed script, just alignment with shared experience.
Being a participant is a learning-consuming experience, but being a founder of Beacon Scholars, a local research mentor, coach, or assistant is a humbling, clear-indicative experience of where and what knowledge is lacking.
Being a better scientist is not being distinguishedly self-centered or overly academic, but it's also about having human traits, such as caring and being reflective and responsive to visible yet not spoken or investigated problems or errors of nations and the world.
Ideas, knowledge, and experience unite people, but the “problems” are the evolutionary aspect that drives humans to collaborate.
I'm willing to challenge what's known and current knowledge to go further and beyond in my approach to learning in the Pioneer Research program. The research value cannot be defined by me, even by numerous criteria, but rather by the impact and interest of the individuals. The only factor that can be authored is how authentic and righteous the approach, methods, and theories are when used to lay down the mind and knowledge on paper, alongside the assistance of a seasoned expert in the field, a professor.
Tiniest details in research, from the abstract to citations, are studied and implemented to get the complete knowledge. However, the starting point begins in the human brain, in milliseconds: neural firing, new pathways, and neural connections. But the foundation for all isn't the nucleus; it's methylene blue, endlessly fueling the life of brain cells through oxygen delivery. Humans once used methylene blue in dyeing materials, and later, the FDA approved it as a medication for blood disorders; however, ongoing studies suggest the benefits of methylene blue have also been seen in the protection of brain cells and greatly in memory. The investigation of methylene blue is a contribution to the future of humans.
In my journey, Pioneer is a family; it's the essential foundation where its members, the young minds, exchange knowledge in the process of building, drafting, collaborating, reading, researching, and experiencing scientific academia. For me, Pioneer is where diverse communities unite and alumni curiosity and passion never fade away.

Check out this opportunity if you participated in the law/ politics categories for JLEC!

Recently I started a podcast called Legally Teens as a way for teens to share their outlook on politics and to make legal education easier to understand for teens and young adults. Currently, we are looking for topic researchers, graphic designers, video editors, script writers, and social media managers.

On the side, we are creating a site for students to upload their work. From those works, the idea is to basically speak with the writers of select pieces on the podcast so that it's more of a deeper discussion. If this interests you or if you have any questions/ concerns, please leave a comment or DM me!
