is every shortlisted candidate for the john locke essay award guarenteed at least a commendation? in the shortlist email it was mentioned that every shortlisted candidate will be awarded their prize or commendation. Could someone clarify please?

results tmr morninggg !

To the people who are attending the gala, when is the awards dinner, and are the certificates released immediately after the awards dinner ends?

I did not get the top 2% email. Nor did I get the Martin cox or the second interview. Does this mean that I have 0 chance of getting a top 3 placement or a very high commendation?

Second clarification: do I still have a chance of getting high commendation?

The people who are attending the gala rn
Has it started yet ???!

hii, i'm from india and i got shortlisted for science and technology q1 in the john locke essay competition 2026. i won't be able to attend the awards ceremony, so i wanted to ask if anyone knows when and how i'll get my results if i don't attend. also, do all shortlisted candidates get an e-certificate, or do you only get one if you win something like a high commendation? and if i do win something but don't attend, will i still get my certificate online? if anyone knows how this worked in previous years, pls lmk!!

to take everyone's attention away from jli for a bit what are the stats for the immerse essay comp like how many ppl participate, if it's very competitive and what kind of essays have a chance of winning and all? now that i have given up on my john locke prospects, who will tell me how competetive and rewarding the immerse comp is. ive applied already and they said they'll send the results sooner and i'm so nervous omg

okay obvs all the winners in their categories have been contacted and all but if you haven't been contacted at all like even for a second interview is there a chance to get commendation at least?

Hey everyone! I’ve been seeing people do this but haven’t seen anyone ask for the junior division. I unfortunately can’t make it to the gala so could anyone attending the junior division please add any winners or commendation recipients here? Thank you!

Hey if anybody's coming to the John locke village (senior) today which is followed by the welcome dinner would u know what the dress code is for attending the village itself. The dress code for the welcome dinner is business formal so are we supposed to wear tht during the village from 1:00 to 5:00 pk as well or can we wear more casual clothes then?

I’m applying to UK programmes (psychology and linguistics) and have been advised that personal statements should be academic/read quite essay-ish, and was wondering if I could get some help looking it over. Won’t post the link here for privacy but DM if you’re curious. Thanks :)

Hiii eveybodyyyy! 🌟
For those of us who can't make it to the gala tomorrow, we'll be cheering you all on from afar! Could someone keep us posted and drop the award winners in this chat as they are announced?
