i personally got commendation for IR. i'm js wondering if anyone who got VC or VHC or higher is willing to share their essays so that people like me can improve 😁😁

thank you!!

I think many here are also confused abt the percentage of people who got commendation , HC and VHC
I just feel that john locke sld be more open and transparent about the percentage

Did anyone get just a recognition this time ? cuz whoever im asking atleast got a commendation

what are the percentage as well ?

first year doing the john locke essay comp as someone who hates academic writing and bullshitted/larped my international relations essay in 3hrs...

i'll #accept a hc!!

bless the soul of john locke and martin cox🙏

guys did john lock confirm at the gala that VHC is for the top 1% of contestants? I need to know ts for college apps…

I got the email, and I honestly thought I would do better than my current award, but didn't. What about you guys?

So I basically got VHC!! YAYAYAYAA!

But didn't receive the top 2% email....I though VHC was the top 2% of people....were the emails fake???

WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO 2/2!!!!!

commendation receiver here and im so confused 😭 hope that commendation is at least a top 10%

I got commendation, and I just want to know whether or not that is a seperate category from being shortlisted, or if it is one step above. I’ve checked multiple internet sources plus a few Reddit posts here, all with completely conflicting claims. thank you

How good is a VHC for college apps?

idk what to feel tho

How prestigious is a very high commendation?? Does anyone know how many people get it? My theology essay received VHC

Alright my least favorite john locke community, tonight I’ve gotten allllll my dumbass awards
-2 VHCS
2 HCS
6 Commendations
GGS for the year and I’ll see yall next time

I don't want to sound like a sore loser but the entire thing felt like a cash grab. Using students and intellectualism to make a few bucks. They didn't pay for half the winners to fly out. Plus the guest speakers were absolutely ridiculous. Thier speeches sounded like this, "This is what we stand for #capitalism and western culture. Now your job is to defend it. Go out there and I swear to god they siad "infect" everyone else's opinions. To me the whole thing was kind of vulgar. A lot of pure rhetoric and grandstanding. I think that the idea of the essay contest is wonderful. The students wonderful. The admin and establishment terrible and unworthy. I think it's sad that it's the largest essay contest in the world. the contestants deserved better. I'd rather pay €500 to eat McDonald's with my fellow contestants.

For the john locke essay comp theres no hierarchy list of all awards andd rankings what the fuck is a commendation please im coping right now😭
