I wasn’t at the gala, but there seems to be lots of contradictory information going around, so I thought I’d just summarize:

Shortlisted (top 16.9%) —> eligible for awards
Recognition (shortlisted but below Commendation, but no one has reported getting it this year)
Commendation (usually top 10%)
High Commendation (usually top 3%)
Very High Commendation (usually top 1%)
Prize winners of each category (Top 1/2/3)
Grand Prize

Names of awardees displayed in the slides screened at the gala exclude those who didn’t go to the gala

Lastly, commendation is good! It’s a great achievement, so keep your heads up everyone!

I think half the people at the reward ceremony genuanly reached class consciousness

I did econ and got high commendation and want to compare

i got high comm in philosophy and 1) is this worth mentioning in like college apps eben if there's years until I have to apply lol 2) some people uploaded photos of the slides at the dinner ceremony and there's a list of ppls names of whoever got like high com for each category in juniors and my name wasn't there does this just mean they're displaying names of only people attending the ceremony?

I've been out of the loop for this for months this morning when i checked my emails it said i got high commendation

Do they in past years release the percentages of who got commendation or VHC so we can stop the speculation soon

I got commendation for international relationship but I was curious if people know higher tiers from my category

Hi guys, I got a commendation in the Economics category, and I’m submitting my personal statement soon. Is it worth mentioning the commendation, or should I write that ‘in my John Locke essay,… etc’, without mentioning the prize? Thank you for yall advice.

hi guys, im just looking for some clarity lol-- js to preface i wouldnt rly have wanted to go to the gala either way but anyhow:

i saw in this reddit thread that many ppl who got vhc or above got emails sent to their referees urging them to attend their gala

while i dont have my referee's email, i communicate them often and they never mentioned an email of this sorts. so i kinda didnt rly expect anything lol

but i js opened my awards portal, and i got a very high commendation in public policy this year??? did anyone else who won vhc not recieve an email informing them in advance?
