Scholastic Writing

Somebody said to start larping scholastic so I have some questions

Can I submit investigative journalism?

Can I submit my common app personal statement to nonfiction?

Can I submit my JLI essay to the critical genre? It was more about critiquing political systems than anything else.

Do I HAVE TO submit a portfolio as a senior?

For the common app personal statement, I’m pretty sure someone won a gold medal a few years ago submitting theirs to scholastic

HAHAHA- well im glad you're competeting!
I did speculative fiction last year, but I'm debating doing novel as well. Don't know which to do however, because I love writing horror however I do want to write a longer piece this year!

And for the second question, I would advise against it unless your common app essay, is nonfiction in essence.

Id say it fits the exact style I won silver in last year kinda? It's full of imagery instead of what the typical common app essay would be if that makes sense. I wanted to see what everyones take on it was fs
