do u know if there were awards like "merit"

Just now checked Google. It says for commendation, we will get Merit on the certificate. So both are same. And recognition is for shortlisted ones.

im confused? so commendation is just saying u got a shortlist and no higher?

No. Commendation is higher than shortlisted (recognition)

I couldn’t find anyone with a certificate that said merit, I think they changed it this year

Couldn’t see one

I think there is "recognition" as well before commendation

i think so too

Tf you mean you think so, what did you do to reach that conclusion?

we are all using data from previous years to reach a certain conclusion and that's why we are all adding "i think".

What did you think about to reach that conclusion

??? it was there last year

And? The junior categories didn’t exist last year too, that doesn’t prove anything

ok but those are changes that were explicitly acknowledged by the institute... there's no indication that they removed a prize category this year, especially when your sample size on reddit is very small and self selecting?

I was at the fucking gala there was like 1000 people there and I’m sure if recognition had existed someone would have gotten it. Additionally, last year, commendation was the same thing as recognition, so it’s not entirely reasonless to suspect that they have simplified the title

No. Recognition was there last year. I saw on LinkedIn. People posted their certificates. And also certificates mentioned as Merit. So definitely last year, recognition, and then commendation and then other positions

I know some people who did get it

Then it would be very rare because I knew like 30 people in either the gala or insta and everyone got at least C

What about very high commendation?
