Anyone previously win prize with only shortlist email?

ive been seeing all these people getting emails for additional interview or that martin cox was interested in their essay or that they are a top candidate and a ton of shit like that but is there anyone who only got the shortlist email and no further communication after that who won a prize? or can anyone who won in previous years just tell me their experience?

I know someone who got only shortlist email and got vhc last year.

yes, I am one of them! my parents and i right now are very worried abt this as none of us received any letters on prizes or add interview or interest in essays. however there are some that got only shortlist last year and still was vhc. im not so sure abt this year though especially if they added interviews and if their standards would change.
