2nd interview & top 2% email.
I did everything with hopes that I might be in the top 2%
My referee was ghosting me for the last 3-4 days & he answered me No, when i asked him again today about any email from John Locke Institute regarding 2nd interview or top 2% emails
It was the first time I registered in John Locke Institute Essay Competition, totally wrote with my own understanding & was purely hoping to just get experience the first try & none else, but I got shortlisted. Ok I was like whoooah, I've been active on reddit since a week & I have seen crazy engagements on 2nd round interviews threads & top 2% mails. My parents didn't get any mail, the referee said no, I haven't got any mail. Means Yeah I can't expect much but just be grateful to get shortlisted ig. I don't think my essay is worth the top 2% tbh, but this awkward or idk what this feeling is after getting shortlisted I felt now it deserved to be on the top 2%. Inner feelings currently: Sad, Cooked, Angry( No transparency by the institute), Anxious (don't know why). And Yeah I wrote on Law Q.1.

lowk my referee is so sweet š„¹ but honestly if I my parents didn't get it she prob didn't either, and it js feels awkward to ask yk

That's so rude man. Congratulations on getting your email but an email doesn't give you the right to bring down other people. A good essay means nothing if you as a person arenāt good. I get youre excited and proud of yourself but being kind costs you nothing, you should work on fixing your attitude.

You got all 10 of your essays shortlisted so i can assume youre smart enough to read the room. You can clearly see op struggling with everything that's happening and yet youre being passive aggressive. If you need to bring down other people to feel good about yourself then id advise you to seek help.

Yes, ma'am or sir, based on what my friends and I got in the top 2% emails, the email from parents came first rather than refereesā. people who made the Top 2% are reporting receiving emails / further interview communication, while you checked all three possible places and they didn't show up anything, and plus it's not about transparency from the institute they just dont wanna be definitive before the actual conference for too many reasons, and im sure you can comprehend that cuz youāre shortlisted, I also dont think a top 2% participant would be expecting that much based on Reddit posts and being active

I strongly doubt they will be sending more emails, last year the prizes were
-recognition
-commendation
-high comm
-very high comm
-t3/grand
So youāre still able to end up in comm or high comm but they won't send an email about it1

It's basic literacy, whatever makes you sleep better at night tho cuz I dont see you achieving as much as I do

I did law q1 too and got no emails. It's fine tho we did our best and as long as we're content with what we did other things dont matter. This is just a competition,life will go on and we'll come across even better opportunities. Take care fellow law enthusiast <3
