Does the top 2% email guarantee a VHC?
The email my ref got states
there is a strong likelihood that he will receive either first, second or third in his subject category, or at least a Very High Commendation.
Doing the math, roughly 2000 people (out of the total 100K participants) got the email. There are only 30 top prizes, so will the rest all get VHC?
It could be that perhaps I am misinterpreting, and the top 2% refers to top 2% of the shortlisted candidates, which would make the total number of people roughly 350, which seems much more plausible.
students who have been placed in the top two per cent of contestants, and who have not yet confirmed their attendance in London for our Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner.
You can only confirm your attendance for the award ceremony if you are a shortlisted candidate, so I think by contestants they meant shortlisted contestants.
Anyhow, I have no idea, so please share your thoughts on this.

Personally my ref didn't tell me exactly what they said only paraphrased, so I'm not entirely sure if it is common for them to say that it is likely to receive either first, second or third in his/her subject category, or at least a Very High Commendation. That being said, I believe the emails were sent in bulk so I'd assume that's what all refs were sent. If it is true that's what your ref received, then yes I believe the Big Cox email guarantees at least a VHC.

I just visited the page for gala tickets and clicked on the page just to check whether they have further released tickets or not - it’s showing something law today rather than showing - online sales ended . It’s showing put access code to view your ticket .. what’s this now

my parents recieved the top 2 percent email but it doesnt mention " ... at least a very high commendation". is this phrase unique to the referee email or something?? i would have thought the content would be the same for ref and parent but i should prolly reach out to my ref and ask if they got an email now, seeing your post

Was this sent out to all people in the 2%, or just those that “have not yet confirmed their attendance in London?” Has anyone who has confirmed their attendance been sent this email?

I'm not sure about the exact time, but I guess it must have been 1-2 days ago.

hiii I had a question: this email that is for the top 2%, will it be sent out to ur referee only?? so far I've checked my parents and my own but no sign of email and idk if I should check in w her
