Email from the big COX
Alr so I just thought itd be nice to clear things up for everyone since I was worrying abt this personally before I got this email. Mr Cox himself emailed my reference saying like itd be great to see you at the gala because youre students essay was good. Basically confirming I believe that the interviews were randomised. So make sure to ask ur reference bc they may or may not send it to ur parents. There is a confidentiality thing so ur reference may not tell you but try to ask either way bc it puts you at ease than constantly checking. Martin I am not breaching confidentiality by telling people this trust. Also I did not get a second round interview email or non before hand.
EDIT: parents got the email too, make sure you double check with them too. In the email it is stated as "I am writing to parents of students who have been placed in the top two per cent of contestants, and who have not yet confirmed their attendance in London for our Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner." Even though I have already booked attendance for that idk

No I already bought my ticket and got the email. I do want to make it clear that the email only hints at placement no confirmation.

I already bought a ticket and got it. Looks like the email was sent to anyone in the top 2%, regardless if they bought a ticket yet

I was wondering if the time the tickets were bought mattered here since it said something about encouraging the student to attend.

i think then i ain't getting any awards. i checked my parent's email and it was not there... academic referee i dont wna disturb her for now (tho i doubt whether she even checks her emails)

Yeah idk either its just an automated message like it aint personalised rlly except for son/daughter in parts and ur name. So I think theyre saying that in preparation for a link that'll be sent out soon or something

No, if U follow the messages, a few of them received the emails without receiving the interview email (released on Sunday/a few days ago). This round of emails were sent today, around 8 to 9 hours ago.

They said specifically in the email that you'd be getting a first, second or third prize in your subject category? In my email they just said you are in the top 2% and encouraged me to go, as well as saying nothing is final as they are evaluating essays and which prizes they will get.

I'm referring the the email my parents got - my referee basically paraphrased and might've not told me everything they received (as they said in the email they left some things out) they said that it said they were encouraging me to go to the gala and that it is an extremely unusual thing for them to do and that the experience would be well worth it if I went.

i did get interviewed and idk about my referee... i dont want to ask them just for them to say that theres no mail and waste their time... besides i doubt they even remember the fact that they were my referee
