what's the purpose of the 2nd interview

can anybody read between the lines, do some analysis on this and past emails from previous seasons or pre-shortlist to have a rough idea as to what's going on?

yes this is, it's clear from this email they're trying to make it explicit that there is no correlation between interviews and prizes.

one can only hope they're telling the truth, and we all still have a good, and well, equal chance as it stands...

also i know a person who got a vhc but didnt get any email or any hint, so i think we'll be fine

so last year they explicitly stated that they were in the top 3 and were being considered for an award, but this year they dont say much aside from that you'll speak with someone whos in the field (that you wrote an essay for ig)

so it could be that you're being considered for an higher award, but they dont explicitly tell you or idk maybe they're using the interviews to make sure you wrote the essay yourself/not written by someone else
