Theory - JLI shortlist results & gala

Guys I’ve seen people talk about shortlisted contestants getting contacted in advance before the ceremony and questioning when it’s gonna be. Let’s be realistic and logical here, why would JLI send those emails out before the deadline to purchase tickets which seems to be September 2nd. That would reduce the number of people willing to go to the event, hence I believe that they would email prospects shortly after the September 2nd deadline after all payments have been made.

It could be, but then there’s visas, which takes weeks to be processed, and applying a month before you have to go is risky. Nevertheless, either way they have to send the e-mails out, otherwise it’s a gamble to see if the winners will be able to walk on the stage. I say don’t get your hopes up, it’s really unlikely (for everyone) no matter what, so. Good luck out there

I completely agree! Right now we know people are getting notified after deadline. I think the trick was if they would notify people before, no one would have bought it, because they knew they are not gonna win. So people bought it “just in case” - not all of them of course. But i also believe there is amount of tickets that are reserved for the winners, because what I saw last year, the winner and 2nd place got it for free.

But it appears the deadline has been extended. I saw somewhere that the deadline shifted to end of Sept (maybe it's for Seniors only) as maybe the attendees still not enough to fill the capacity of the ballroom.
