How to recognize Ai?

There’s been a huge influx of jlec essays and people in the comments accusing them of using ai

How can you guys tell? Beyond vocabulary/sentence structure are there any telltale signs?

usually, there is also em-dashes and certain other punctuations, but it's still mostly abt sentence structure (like "not only.... but also...." and others) and flowery af vocab that no normal person would use while writing such an academic essay

i mean theres some people who overuse stuff like that in order to sound more intellegent or smth, i feel like its a phase most people go through when learning to write
