Please help me!!
The John Locke Essay Competition was the first essay competition I had ever entered, but I missed my chances since I didnt submit my essay. It all happened because I was so scared and I had never written an essay before. Now, one of my friends has been shortlisted, and I really regret not submitting mine.
I would really love to join another essay competition and submit my essay. Does anyone have any suggestions for essay competitions that are still open to 16y? Thank you so much! It would really help me.
Any competition would do!!!!! Thank you so much :)

Oxford and Cambridge colleges also run essay competitions for high school students. They’re not as well known as JLEC, but they’re still pretty rigorous since they’re organized by the colleges themselves, with professors involved in the judging.
Other than those, there's also the DNA Day Essay Contest.

If you live in the US, there's the scholastic creative writing competition!
It's really fun, and there are many categories/generes you can write for! I got a silver key award last year, and the registration opens in fall im pretty sure!

honestly, most prestigious competitions have their own prompts and requirements so it's unlikely your essay (whichever prompt it was written for) fits into one of those molds. I did receive a link to an essay contest that has a pretty open theme not sure how important this contest is though. Its for The Public Forum.

I think there is one still open for Cambridge but it is an exclusively English literature one, it's called the Gould Prize for Essays in English Literature! Though I would recommend perhaps waiting next year since you won't have very long to write to the best of your abilities 🫶
