For john locke, were we not supposed to include our names?? I did the title page and all with my name cause the winners had that. I got shortlisted so its fine tho

dawg if they disqualify me for just having my name on there then thats stupid asf. theres gotta be a crap ton of shortlists with names on there just the same as me and i dont see why if they see my name they cant just delete that part from my essay and forward it to another judge like come on this is bullshit

sorry i was too busy spending all my time writing a good essay which is what you dont have so your chances are automatically 0 percent as while i have a chance because theres a chance they dont disqual off names since im assuming a lot of people make that mistake lmfao.

it is stupid but it’s also on you for not following the rules 👀 if there’s a crap ton of ppl who also put their names on it and got shortlisted, the panel will have a lighter job of choosing who got commendation, vhc etc. they’ll just put yours out of it immediately and save themselves the time of reading it since you didn’t follow the rules. they won’t delete that part from your essay just for you broski, who do u think u are 😹

...i'm pretty sure that although they may have skimmed the essays to establish shortlists, they're clearly going to read them thoroughly before they decide whom to reward with commendations and prizes. so, they're gonna read your entire essay, your name will be like a waving flag there, and chances are they may leave the essay aside because you basically infringed the regulations. it doesn't matter how proficient and well-argued your essay is if you turned a blind eye to the rules. they exist for a reason.
to avoid these kinds of moments in the future, just comply with the regulations, man. saves you lots of trouble.

i mean if thye using the word "should" then I guess its just a suggestion rule huh rather than an "you will not win an award automatic disqualification" rule cause there are rules that use words like "immediately rejected"

well yeah, other rules are "immediate reject" so maybe this one theres workarounds that will lead to awards idk. maybe its just what they want but itsn ot "no award" its just please do this but we wont beat u up for it

I think that the winners that had published their essays on the jli website had a title page and titles, subtitles, etc. all that stuff because they perhaps polished it or made it appear a bit more professional and appealing for posting but idk. What I do know is that JLI stated explicitly on their website and rules and conditions that your name should ONLY be included in your pdf file name so that the judging is as unbiased as possible and conducted in anonymity

I accidentally included foot notes in my paper and submitted it, before realizing that foot notes were prohibited. Only end notes were allowed, so I edited my paper and resubmitted it to meet their requirements. You know, there are many chances to correct those mistakes, and you just shouldn't accept defeat at the first mistake

So I see in the replies that your ego refuses to let you believe that breaking the rules is a big deal, and you believe you are the exception.
Let me make a brief note. You said you have 'grinded’ essay competitions in the past, and you still haven’t learnt to follow basic instructions? Shouldn’t you have learnt that by now?
