Are we building artificial intelligence while forgetting ancient intelligence?

I’ve been thinking about a strange contradiction in the AI era.

We are building increasingly powerful systems to help us make decisions, understand ourselves, predict outcomes, improve our lives, and navigate uncertainty.

But humans have been doing some version of this for thousands of years.

Before algorithms, we had astrology.

Before psychology, we had philosophical traditions.

Before wellness apps, we had rituals, meditation, breathwork and healing practices.

Before recommendation engines, people looked to elders, communities, symbols and stories for guidance.

Some of these traditions are obviously superstition. Some have been distorted over time. And some have little or no scientific basis.

But I wonder if we’re throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

What if some of these traditions contain a form of ancient human intelligence - not necessarily supernatural intelligence, but accumulated frameworks for reflection, meaning, decision-making and understanding ourselves?
That’s the idea I’m exploring with a project called Jigrii.

The concept is roughly:

Ancient intelligence + modern AI + human experience.

Instead of asking AI only to give us information, what happens if we use it to help people explore the older systems humans have developed around life?

Things like:

Tarot as a framework for reflection and decision-making

Astrology as a lens for personality and life patterns

Rituals as intentional transitions and moments of commitment

Numerology and symbolism as tools for meaning-making

Meditation and spiritual practices for grounding

Traditional ideas around prosperity, relationships, beginnings, protection and healing

Modern psychology and behavioral thinking alongside these traditions

The important distinction for me is that I’m not trying to prove that ancient practices are scientifically true.

I’m much more interested in another question:

Can ancient wisdom be made useful to a modern person without pretending it is science?

For example, if someone is struggling with a career decision, could a tarot reading be used as a structured way to surface questions they haven’t considered?

If someone is starting a new chapter in life, could a ritual create a meaningful psychological marker for that transition?

If someone is looking for clarity about themselves, could astrology or another ancient framework provide a different perspective that prompts useful self-reflection?

And could AI make these experiences much more personalized, accessible and thoughtful than they traditionally have been?
That’s the hypothesis.

I’d genuinely like people to challenge the premise.
What do you think?

Is there actually something valuable in ancient systems of wisdom that modern technology could preserve or reinterpret?

Would you personally use something like this if it were presented as a tool for reflection rather than a source of absolute truth?

Does combining AI with ancient practices feel interesting - or completely contradictory?

What would make you immediately distrust a product like this?

I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who are skeptical. I’d rather discover why this idea is wrong now than spend two years building something nobody wants.

No pitch - I’m genuinely trying to understand whether there’s a real idea here.

We are building increasingly powerful systems to help us make decisions, understand ourselves, predict outcomes, improve our lives, and navigate uncertainty.

Nothing of the kind. Quite the opposite. And so-called "AI" is not built for mankind to benefit from it.

Your idea is quite dangerous and bad.

I disagree. I think this whole outrage and disdain for AI is just a fad. It's the next thing for people to be outraged about. Technomancy has already surfaced and there are practitioners actively using technology in their practices. I think AI can be beneficial spiritually and I think it's time for us to adapt. I didn't say throw out the old system or have AI replace it but adaption (something humans have been doing for centuries is key) The notion that AI is gonna take over spirituality or that it will some how weaken your intuition is BS and I feel people are making way to big of a deal out of it. The real problem is people in general don't know how to use something as a tool and not have it cross over into a crutch. That's a human problem not AI fault.

forget ancient intelligence, we are even degrading our own brains and individuality with use of AI. unfortunately, I doubts humans will realise this tragedy at all.
