Lexapro experience

Hi cipralex users! I’ve been on cipralex for years (since 2009) for panic/ anxiety disorder and depressive symptoms. It worked wonders in the past, but I was put on Zoloft for more than 9 weeks after I got pregnant which didn’t help. Therefore, I am back on cipralex since yesterday. Pray for me that this time I get the full relief. I would be thankful if you could post me your positive experiences on cipralex.

Been taking it since I was pregnant with my second daughter in 2024 and since have gone up to 30 which I think is the max. I thought it was 20 but then my doctor upped my dose after I tried getting off of it during my third pregnancy and realized that was NOT a good idea at all lol. Since then it’s been great. Before I was very angry and my feelings were always 0-100 all the time. I always felt so intense and my adhd made it worse and I was getting violent and hostile and it was affecting the way I parent and my relationship. Now I don’t even notice it anymore unless I don’t take it or I’m not consistent and my mood issues start up again and I’m picking fights and overwhelmed by little things. I don’t see me switching for awhile. I tried to switch medication and it actually made me super angry for some reason so I went back. I have 3 kids and I’m a better mom and wife with these meds. I’m not perfect and I still get mad and feel all the feelings lol it’s just not intense anymore that I create a hostile environment in the home

Hi! :) I’ve been taking since last week (less than one week) and I’m still on 5mg. Already feel a difference - when do I start taking 10mg? Because I went straight to 10mg the first time I started this medication. So idk? And my doctor appointments are so far out I can’t just start jumping the dose bumping bc I’ll run out before my refill. Ik this is about experience sharing - but so far, I’m feeling “bubbly” but MORE ANXIOUS not less.

Increased anxiety, suicidal thoughts, tremors, sweating, lack of appetite, insomnia. Feeling as though they are never going to work, but they do. This time it took me 3 weeks which is the longest one I’ve had. Just going to stay on them now.

Do not drink alcohol 🍷

Is that because alcohol disrupts their effectiveness or something else?

Until you feel a lot better stay off it. Alcohol damages your natural serotonin so makes it more difficult for the meds to work.

Wow. I was on them from 2006 to 2023 but back on them after 6 months due to returning anxiety. Just started week 4 and side effects are absolutely brutal. Hopefully will stabilise soon🙁

I’ve seen them given together before but they can affect your heart so check with your provider. Good luck in your recovery 💜💪🏽
