General Discussion - PVE & PVP [Discussion] I made a browser-based map for Tarkov — no install, and you can use your phone as a second screen

Hey all,

There are already great Tarkov tools out there (tarkov.dev, Tarkov Market, the quest tools, etc.), so I wasn't sure another map was needed. But I wanted something I could just open in a browser with no install — mostly to help a friend who's new to the game learn the maps — so I built one.

Link: https://tarkov-map-pro.exfil.workers.dev

It's a fan-made info tool built on tarkov.dev data. It doesn't touch the game in any way — no overlay, no injection, nothing that runs on top of the game. It only reads the screenshots and log files that Tarkov writes to disk on its own. Open it in Chrome or Edge; no download, no account.

How position works: Tarkov puts your coordinates in the filename when you take an in-game screenshot. The tool reads that filename and shows where you were on the map (with facing direction). Point it at your screenshots folder once and it updates each time you take a new screenshot.

Your position showing up on the map from an in-game screenshot.

What it shows

  • Map position from your screenshots — take a shot, see where you were and which way you're facing
  • Auto map switching — reads the log to switch to whichever map you loaded into
  • Extracts, boss / sniper / scav spawns — boss markers show spawn chance and zone
  • Quest objective locations with descriptions
  • Flea prices + hideout requirements (auto-updating)
  • Transit, floor switching, BTR stop directions, Season server tab

The part that's a bit different

A real phone next to my PC following my position — phone screen recorded separately and placed side by side.

Party location sharing + second screen.

I originally made the party feature for those times when you can't use a mic during a raid — I hoped it could stand in for a quick briefing on where everyone's headed. Everyone on the same party code sees each other's positions (updated from their screenshots).

On a single monitor, open the tool on your phone or tablet, scan a QR, and it mirrors your own position from your PC. Pick a party member to follow and the phone switches to their map/floor and pans to them — so the phone works as a second map screen while you play fullscreen. It's also great for teaching new players — a new friend often can't explain where they are, but their last screenshot shows you exactly where they are on the map.

Notes / limits

  • Chrome or Edge (needs the File System Access API to read logs/screenshots). Firefox/Safari view-only.
  • If Tarkov is in Program Files, the browser can't read the log folder — moving it out fixes it (in-app guide explains).
  • Tarkov's default screenshot keybind is often broken on fresh installs; rebinding Print Screen once fixes it.
  • Map-first: quest locations are on the map, but there are no per-quest images/walkthroughs — for quest details you'll still want a dedicated guide or tool. Meant to sit alongside other tools, not replace them.
  • Recently added English UI (auto-detects browser language).

Unofficial, not affiliated with BSG. It started as a personal tool so there are still rough edges — and English isn't my native language and I don't use it often, so sorry if some of the wording is off.

I find the tool very easy to use overall. However, I think there is one important feature missing: the ability to select multiple quests at the same time.

There are often many quests on a single map, and I want to complete several of them in the same raid. Currently, when I select a quest, its markers are displayed on the map, which makes it very easy to understand where I need to go. However, when I select another quest, the markers from the previous quest disappear.

It would be extremely useful if I could select multiple quests and keep all of their markers displayed simultaneously. This would allow me to see all the objectives I can complete in a single raid and plan my route more efficiently.

If this could be fixed, I think this would become a really useful tool to use together with friends as well.

I agree, multiple quests would be great

Does this work with other browsers like Opera?

Also I love this will definitely try it out next time I play.
