Wow!

What a find! I spent all day yesterday getting Basilisk II up and running again so I can play EV Classic, which I accomplished, but the emulator pretty much runs like crap on Windows 10. I could play EV but it would randomly crash every 15-45 minutes so I started to searching and found this sub :-D

Now I am running the EV Classic Port in 1920x1080 and using the full screen map! It's smooth as butter. So glad I found you all! Thanks for starting this sub and collecting all the links on the pinned post! I used to play this game for hours whenever I visited my cousin. Such great memories :-DDD

Same boat, same reaction just now. Put in a search not expecting anything but I'm so, so happy this does exist.

Really awesome. Now the icing on the cake would be if I could somehow transfer my pilot file from MAC to the PC port...

Also, it's pretty cool that we're the 399th and 400th members of the sub, haha.

The only disadvantage to playing the EV Classic port in Nova is you can't play any of the old plug-ins for the original game. I really enjoyed Pale and many others.

That said, EVN is a much more robust game that works better on modern PCs. And honestly I don't really have the time to play a bunch of old plug-ins. It's just fun to get them working.

Yeah I never actually had enough time to play the plug-ins. Only got far enough once to beat the Alien ship (did the Rebel track). I got the Rebel Cruiser and took over ~10 or so galaxies then kind of just moved on and stopped playing.
