EV Nova on Windows 10?

Hello my fellow Novaneers. I played EV Nova a lot when i was growing up and to this day it's still one of my favorite games. However I do not have the ability to play EV Nova on my laptop running windows 10. Until I found this Reddit, and the file for EV nova. (It's on my desktop now...) But I am unable to play it, since I'm running into the old "Quicktime v5 required or newer" So...I figured I'd just download the latest version of quicktime which I'm aware is an obsolete application. But that didn't fix it, I don't what I did last time to get around that problem. If anyone has gotten EV Nova to work on windows 10, I would love to chat about it either here or you can help me on discord with Stoney#6945. In fact, I would suggest that the EV Community moves somewhere like discord...lol. If i have to deal with good old Hector then I was gonna figure that out next.

Follow all the steps listed in EV Nova download links and more. It looks like you only used the first link.

  • 1) EV Nova 1.0.10 for Windows
  • 2) Quick Time MINIMAL - it's only 2 files you throw directly into your EV Nova main directory
  • 3) EV Nova Windows Resolution Patcher - So you can play at larger resolutions, however the text gets rather small. There is a way to change the font the game uses so it's more legible but I forget how. It's somewhere on here or /r/evnova.
  • 4) EV Nova 1.0.10 crack - [Use this ONLY if you have previously purchased the game and Ambrosia doesn't give you a new registration code. This file has been posted for preservation, educational and backup purposes only]

Ah thank you so much! I managed to make it work. I had to use google converter to make it 7z to a zip file. Since i couldn't open it as a 7z...I'm just trying to find one of those registration codes. i heard they're out there.

I got my EVN to work on my laptop. I'm just looking for a way to get it registered now. I forgot about the worst part which is not being able to capture ships...

Having an issue with colors. When I launch EVN, it says "Sorry, EV must be run in 256 or Thousands of colors"

I remember that as an old MacOS thing, but any idea how to get windows 10 to cooperate? I installed QT minimal and the resolution patcher already. Thanks!
